Hendre Ddu Cottage

Your Snowdonia Escape

Dog friendly

We want you to relax and have a great holiday, along with your dog(s) so we have as few rules for our canine guests as possible.

There are hard floors throughout the cottage, slate downstairs and wood upstairs. There are no banned rooms for dogs. Upstairs, they must not sleep inside the beds, but on top is fine if you bring a throw. Please just keep them out of unused bedrooms.

Downstairs again they can snuggle up on the sofa but please use a throw. Fine for them to lie on the rugs in the living room. We provide dog bowls and towels and sometimes a bag of treats!

Outside the garden is fully enclosed by sturdy wire stock fencing. It is around 5ft high but being wire gives no purchase for dogs to jump over. The gate at the bottom of the drive is a wooden one so smaller dogs may be able to squeeze under in theory though this has not happened to date!

For dogs and humans alike the slate is slippery when wet and as the garden slopes there are some steps and drops on the land. For older dogs the approach to the house is all level you just need to keep an eye on young or daredevil dogs!

The neighbours have poultry and sheep as well as their own dogs. Please don't let your dog frighten the livestock.

We keep information on dog friendly places (most are in this area) in the house file onsite. We are always adding to it as we learn more ourselves.
