Hendre Ddu Cottage - Your Snowdonia escape

About Hendre Ddu Cottage

"The simple, homely style made us feel immediately welcome and relaxed."

Becky Saunders, Oxfordshire.

Set in picturesque rural surroundings, Hendre Ddu Cottage is the perfect base for exploring the southern part of Snowdonia National Park.

One of three cottages originally built for the workers who mined the Hendre Ddu slate quarry, it has been lovingly restored by the current owner in a cosy, traditional style. Hendre Ddu is a delightful character cottage, with beamed ceilings, original slate floors, thick stone walls and a wood-burning stove.

Hendre Ddu sleeps six in one twin and two double bedrooms. Downstairs there is a homely lounge with a woodburning stove, TV, a CD/radio, and plenty of games to while away the evenings.

The well-equipped kitchen leads off the lounge and is a good size, with a farmhouse-style table, range cooker in an inglenook fireplace, slate-topped work surfaces and a washing machine. There is also a downstairs shower room and toilet in addition to the main bathroom upstairs.

The bedrooms are arranged over two floors, all with stunning views of the surrounding scenery. Outside, there is a large garden bordered by woods, streams, walking trails and fields. There is a 14ft trampoline and rope swing, and plenty of safe areas for children to explore.
